Southampton supporters have been pretty downbeat in the Transfer Tavern in the last few days after seeing their team only muster a 1-1 draw with Brighton in the Premier League on Wednesday, thus continuing their lengthy winless run.
Mauricio Pellegrino’s men went into their clash with their South Coast rivals having failed to win any of their preceding 11 league matches, a streak which has seen them plummet down the table into the Premier League’s bottom three. And the Saints remain there after their frustrating draw at St Mary’s on Wednesday night, with Jack Stephens’ second goal in as many matches preserving a point for the home side following Glenn Murray’s opener for Chris Hughton’s Seagulls.
Thus, there have been many disappointed Southampton fans in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are already turning their attentions towards Saturday’s crunch clash with bottom side West Brom at the Hawthorns.
And ahead of that match, Saints boss Pellegrino has been discussing record signing Guido Carrillo, who made his debut for the club in the second half on Wednesday night, and was pretty bright for someone who hasn’t played loads of football so far this season.
Nonetheless, Pellegrino has admitted that the 26-year-old will need time to adapt to English football, and indeed the way Southampton play, which are comments that have stimulated quite a reaction from Saints fans on Twitter.
And it’s fair to say that they are frustrated by Pellegrino’s admission…
Hasn’t got much time to do that.

Needs time to adapt ? Has this idiot not noticed we are in the bottom 3? and this chump our record signing. Or does he mean adapting by becoming slow and lethargic like the rest of the team?

Seems to be our season tag line. Waiting to improve, little by little…..Has anyone at St. Mary’s realised that the season is moving towards the end and it ain’t looking good?
