Another Liverpool ace at risk of missing Euro 2016

A replacement / support for Mario Balotelli Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern had hoped to see a wide variety of their squad competing at next summer’s European Championships but injury issues are taking their toll on a number of players.

Italian publication Gazzetta Dello Sport said that Mario Balotelli, who is on-loan at AC Milan, is set for a three-month stint on the sidelines as he prepares for surgery on an inguinal hernia.

Balotelli has not featured for Milan since a defeat against Genoa at the end of September and, with the Italian international unlikely to return to action until February, his chances of featuring at Euro 2016 are under severe scrutiny.

Liverpool could also be handed a direct problem as it decreases the chances of Milan signing the player permanently next summer, with the Reds keen to offload their £16m flop that scored just four goals in his sole-season at Anfield.

Whilst many in the bar believes Balotelli deserves another chance at Liverpool under new boss Jurgen Klopp, the vast majority want to see the former Manchester City man gone for good as soon as possible.
