It’s all change at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium this summer with a new manager in Manuel Pellegrini appointed to replace Roberto Mancini and the Chilean has wasted no time in overhauling the squad of the Premier League’s runners-up.
After a fee was agreed last night to sell Argentine striker Carlos Tevez to Juventus, The Sun today reports that long serving City defender Micah Richards could be the next out of the door with Italian giants Inter Milan eyeing up the Citizens’ youth academy product.
With just seven first team appearances for City last season, the 25-year-old had another season plagued with injuries and he will again face a fight to gain regular football next season under Pellegrini with Pablo Zabaleta and Maicon in front of him in the right back pecking order.
This possible transfer availability has brought about interest from the Nerazzurri who are seeking a right back themselves and have outlined the powerful, strong running City full back as a decent option.
Richards still has two years left to run on his current deal with the club but with a desire among the City hierarchy to slash the wage bill, he could be one of several high profile departure this summer.
Will Richards flee for the San Siro this summer? Are the Italian giants really interested in the injury ravaged star? Rate this rumour below.
