Metro seem to be under the impression that the club could well face a fight to hold onto Luis Suarez, who had found himself on yet another transfer wishlist for the summer.
The Uruguayan forward is not only being tracked by Real Madrid, but now also cross-city rivals Atletico Madrid, who are keen on bringing him to the Vicente Calderon.
In rather dubious circumstances, Atletico officials reportedly drafted the name Suarez on a summer list of transfer targets that was left on a restaurant table in the Spanish capital.
As one of our punters notes, Suarez has been sensational this term, but quite why he would want to leave Liverpool for the likes of Atletico Madrid remains to be seen.
The La Liga side are currently trying to hold onto their star men Diego Costa and Koke, both of whom have been linked with summer moves, and we are highly doubtful that Suarez would be interested in moving to a team who are about to cash in on some of their star performers.
Liverpool are flying high in the league and look like getting a top four place – at least. Not only this but when the likes of Real Madrid come calling, you are not likely to turn a move to the Bernabeu down!
Surely Atletico are major outsiders to pull off a deal for Suarez given Real’s interest and indeed the Reds’ renaissance of late? Let us know your thoughts below.
