It looks as if Modric won’t be the only Spurs player to join the Spanish League after the Daily Mail reported that Dos Santos has flown back to London to put the final touches in a move which will see him move to Athletico Madrid.
Giovani Dos Santos was at his pre-olympic training with Mexico before he was permitted to leave the camp to fly to Tottenham. The move is valued to cost £8 million for the current Europa League winners.
The Tottenham winger signed in 2008 from Barcelona but has failed to make an impression on the first team. In his 4 year career at the lane, Dos Santos has played in 30 games scoring 3 times and assisting a further 3 goals. He has been sent out on loan to Ipswich, Galatatsary and Racing Santander.
After Dos Santos signed for Spurs for €6 million with a potential €5 million in add on fees, which is unlikely to have been paid due to a limited number of League appearances, it looks as if Tottenham might be able to break even with this deal which won’t damage the bank balance in the long run.
