Everton fans will still feel a slight bit of disappointment after failing to secure the bragging rights in the Merseyside derby, as they could have easily stolen all three points at Goodison Park.
Although, the club did celebrate securing a player agreement recently, as according to Everton’s official website, Anthony Gordon has signed his first professional contract at the club.
What’s the News?
The England youth international has signed a first professional contract at Everton until the summer of 2023.
Gordon has been hugely impressive in the current campaign in the Under-23 ranks, so signing a first professional contract is just reward for the youngster.
Many fans may not be familiar with the youngster but he has actually already made his first-team debut as he came on as a second-half substitute in Everton’s 3-0 Europa League victory at Apollon Limassol back in 2017.
Everton already have a number of promising players in their youth ranks, including the likes of Fraser Hornby and Anthony Evans, so the future is definitely bright for the Merseyside club.
It’s safe to say that the Toffees could benefit from having a couple of their young attackers in the first-team ranks at this moment in time as Cenk Tosun continues to give fans nightmares on the field.
Everton fans, do you think Evans could be one to watch for the future? Join the discussion by commenting below.
