According to Metro, the agent of Sergio Romero has arrived in England to try and push through a deal for the Argentine number one goalkeeper.
The Sampdoria stopper has been linked with a move to the Premier League club all summer and the two clubs agreed a fee of £1.6 million two weeks ago.
However, the deal has been dragged out because Romero is asking for such high wages – much higher than Liverpool are willing to use on Mignolet’s understudy.
Russian side Spartak Moscow have since shown an interest but Liverpool remain keen and now Mino Raiola is set to meet with Liverpool’s representatives to iron out a deal.
The Anfield club already have a good relationship with Raiola having already signed Mario Balotelli – another one of the agent’s clients.
Liverpool fans. Being held to ransom over a reserve keeper makes no sense. Is there better and cheaper options out there that would provide cover for Mignolet? Let us know your thoughts below.
