They’re not impressed that Mathieu Debuchy, who signed from Newcastle United for £12m last summer, is linked with a move away from Arsenal when the transfer window reopens after Christmas.
Debate’s first season in England never really got going as he was plagued by injury problems, which subsequently allowed Hector Bellerin to enjoy a meteoric rise into the first-team picture; where he is now considered the regular pick.
Debuchy isn’t happy with this after losing is spot in France’s squad for the upcoming international break and is concerned about his position ahead of next summer’s European Championships.
Our regular pointed out that allowing Debuchy to leave would see Arsenal extremely vulnerable in defence, as Calum Chambers is seen as a right-back these days.
He did state he’d be happy to see Debuchy leave at the end of the season though, as Carl Jenkinson will return from a loan spell across London with West Ham United.
Arsenal fans, would allowing Mathieu Debuchy to leave in January be a major mistake? Let us know your views in the comments!
