Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are getting more and more confident about landing Chelsea’s legend Petr Cech and the Daily Star revealed that this has also boosted Tomas Rosicky’s chances of staying on at the Emirates.
The Gunners are closing in on a £10m deal for the Czech Republican goalkeeper as it has been reported that Jose Mourinho and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will not stand in Cech’s way if he chooses to move to North London.
In a bid to lure the shot stopper to the Emirates, they may be forced to keep on Rosicky, who is an international teammate of Cech.
Rosicky, who’s contract expires at the end of the season, has made 24 appearances this campaign and many thought this would be his last season at the club.
But if keeping the 34-year-old at the club helps bring in Cech, then Arsene Wenger may feel he has no other choice but to offer him a new deal.
