Arsenal agree deal with fellow Premier League side

Debuchy.jpgArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking very nervous ahead of a crunch tie with Chelsea this weekend, as they sit silently by the fire discussing the latest rumours and their title chances.

With Mohamed Elneny already signed, the Gunners are set to complete another deal as The Daily Express states a £1.2m loan fee has been agreed with Aston Villa for defender Mathieu Debuchy.

Debuchy signed in 2014 from Newcastle United but has struggled to settle into a first-team spot since and has been very public this month about his desire to leave the Emirates Stadium, as he seeks regular football to approve his chances of securing a spot in France’s European Championship squad.

Arsenal are prepared to offload the defender this month but it raises questions about their defensive depth, with Hector Bellerin the only senior option at right-back as Carl Jenkinson is on-loan at West Ham United and Calum Chambers has been moved into a more central area.

Our landlord believes Arsenal didn’t have much choice in this deal but they must ensure there is sufficient cover for Bellerin, as he suggests they should explore the loan market themselves.
