Gunners fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have had a torrid time this week, with injuries piling up and deals falling through, and it looks like it may get even worse.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, Premier League champions Leicester City are lining up a deal for sought after Santos striker, Gabriel Barbosa.
The Foxes have tabled a £23m bid for the Arsenal and Chelsea target, who was reportedly the subject of interest from the Gunners and a £25m bid from the Blues earlier in the window.
The Santos man, often referred to as Gabigol, has also been attracting interest from European giants Barcelona, Juventus and Inter Milan.
The 19-year-old, is currently representing Brazil in his home Olympics, therefore any deal will, more than likely, be completed once his campaign with the national side has come to an end.
Should the forward make the switch to the King Power, he will become the seventh summer signing for Ranieri’s side, with the likes of Ahmed Musa and Bartosz Kapustka having already joined.
Foxes fans, we want to hear from you! What do you make of this move? Can you beat some of the world’s best to this deal? Let us know in the comments below…
