Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly in-line for battle over 30-year-old international

Our Arsenal and Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are engrossed in the race for the top four and, according to The Daily Star, the two clubs are set to battle off the pitch, too.

The two clubs have had similar 2017’s so far for all the wrong reasons.

Both came into it with genuine chances of winning the league and both now look set to only be able to finish in the top four in a battle that looks set to go to the wire.

This summer should see the pair look to strengthen significantly, then, and, according to the report, Kasper Schmeichel could be a part of that for one of them.

The Danish international is, of course, a current Premier League champion thanks to his exploits with his Leicester team-mates last year but things have gone south since.

The Foxes now find themselves just a single point above the relegation zone and our landlord reckons the stopper will surely want out come the summer – regardless of what happens.

Petr Cech has seen his form dip lately for the Gunners whilst Liverpool have had ‘keeper problems all year so both could do with the extra option.

Where should Schmeichel go? Let us know below!
