It doesn’t look like any Premier League clubs will be getting Fernando Llorente under their Christmas tree tomorrow or anytime in the near future for that matter. This comes after talk in the Football Transfer Tavern turned to a talkSPORT article that reports the striker is unlikely to leave Spain during the upcoming January transfer window.
However it does state that the Arsenal and Liverpool target is still expected to leave the club in the summer when his contract expires and that a move to the Premier League may still be on the cards.
Sources in Spain had reported that the Spanish striker was set to move to Serie A leaders Juventus in January but now claim that that deal has collapsed and instead he will wait until the summer to leave Spain.
The 27-year-old would benefit financially by waiting as he can expect a large signing-on fee with the options increasing as he plans to depart Bilbao.
Llorente has fallen out with the club and hasn’t featured as regularly as he has in previous campaigns but he would still represent an excellent transfer option for any Premier League side given his proven goalscoring record in recent years.
