Arsenal and Liverpool to do battle for striking ace

gameiro.jpgWe do love a bidding war in the Football Transfer Tavern and news reported by talkSPORT that Arsenal and Liverpool could be set to battle it out for highly-rated Paris Saint Germain striker Kevin Gameiro in the summer have set pulses racing.

Reports from France have suggested that Gameiro will depart the French league leaders and wants to make the switch to England after struggling to make any impact under Carlo Ancelotti in the French capital.

The 25-year-old is eager to put his career back on track after a disappointing transfer to the big-spending French side and he had previously been one of the most prolific strikers in France.

The arrivals of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi have put him on the fringes in France and a move to the Premier League could revitalise his career. With both Arsene Wenger and Brendan Rodgers keeping a close watch on his situation at PSG he could get his wish in the near future.

French newspaper Le Parisien has suggested that he will definitely leave in the summer which has put the two Premier League rivals on red alert.

Is Gameiro Premier League bound? And who will land him? Rate this rumour below.
