Arsenal and Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been given a massive piece of news to debate today, which could see either club set a transfer record this summer.
The IBTimes, citing reports from Spanish media outlet AS, state the Premier League duo are keen to sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid, with the Colombian superstar said to be unhappy at the Santiago Bernabeu.
24-year-old James was a revelation in his first season in the Spanish capital but has struggled to replicate that form this term, under both Rafael Benitez and Zinedine Zidane, starting just 17 games in La Liga and a further three in the Champions League.
Naturally, that’s left the South American unhappy and he’s actively seeking an exit, with reports stating he’ll hold a meeting with Real Madrid executives after the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid on 28th May.
Unsurprisingly, Real Madrid don’t want to sell and our landlord believes it will take a huge fee to land the 2014 World Cup superstar.
Should either of these Premier League sides splash the cash for James Rodriguez? Let us know in the comments below!
