According to The Daily Star Manchester United and Arsenal will battle it out to sign Porto hotshot Jackson Martinez this summer.
The representatives of Jackson are currently in Italy discussing terms with a Serie A side, believed to be Roma, but Premier League talks are also arranged.
Both Manchester United and Arsenal are set to speak to the 27-year old’s agent, with Atletico Madrid and Valencia also interested in the powerful Colombian forward.
Porto look likely to lose their man but he shan’t be leaving the Portuguese club for anything less than £30 million.
Arsene Wenger has been linked with a number of strikers over the past 12 months, but young French forward Yaya Sanogo has been the only one actually signed.
New Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is meanwhile planning a replacement for Javier Hernandez, who looks set to leave this summer in search of regular first team football.
With 60 goals in 91 appearances it’s no surprise to see the South American courted by Europe’s finest.
