At the minute here in the Football Transfer Tavern it seems that a great deal of talk is about just who will remain in charge of their club come the start of next season and The Guardian and Daily Mail have claimed the summer could be a cracker for one of Arsenal or Real Madrid.
With Arsene Wenger standing on the brink of yet another season without a trophy, not to mention a very precarious situation when it comes to finishing in the top four, fans and certain pundits including Ian Wright have been calling for the Frenchman’s head, claiming that his time is up at the Emirates Stadium.
Despite the board giving the manager their backing and several key players agreeing with this, it has been claimed that the number one man to replace Wenger in the summer should he leave is current Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup.
The Dane of course has seen his stock rise this season after doing a brilliant job at the Welsh club, unearthing Michu to boot. Arsenal would face competition in their attempts to land the young manager however with Real Madrid also in the market for a new coach and given the Dane’s former Los Blancos connections, he could prove a popular choice at the Bernabeu with 72 per cent of fans recently approving this.
The manager himself has decided to take a week to think over his options before deciding if a new contract at Swansea is the way forward and whatever he decides, the interest is only set to grow.
Will Laudrup flee Swansea or sign a new deal in South Wales? Let us know your thoughts below.
