Arsenal and Spurs set to battle for £30m-rated Premier League winger

The Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are in dispute about who will land Riyad Mahrez this winter.

According to a report by The Mirror, the two North London rivals will go head to head in the battle to sign Riyad Mahrez when the transfer window re-opens in the new year.

Tottenham are eyeing another attacking player to add competition for places in that department.

Their current options comprise Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Son Heung-Min, Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko but Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with other attacking midfielders such as Josh King and Wilfried Zaha in the past.

Mahrez is the latest name on Spurs’ radar after he expressed his desire to leave Leicester City in the summer transfer window amid interest from Roma and Barcelona.

A move never materialised and the Algerian international remains at the King Power Stadium but could look to leave in January.

Arsenal are another club chasing the 26-year-old, who is rated at £30m.

The former PFA Players’ Player of the Year is the subject of a transfer tussle between Spurs and Arsenal as the latter could be looking to replace Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil if they decide to cash in during the January window.
