The punters in the Football Transfer Tavern are preparing for another North London battle…
The famed North London derbies are often quite the spectacle in the Football Transfer Tavern, with fans from across the country piling inside in preparation for one of the biggest fixtures of the year.
Whilst the focus is often placed upon what is going on between the sides on the pitch, it would appear that this season – the two sides from North London are set to take their rivalry to the next level.
As per Spanish outlet Diario Madridista, both Arsenal and Tottenham are set to battle it out alongside Manchester City for Real Madrid man Isco – who has failed to cement himself in Real Madrid’s first team as of late.
Crucially, they also report that a return to Malaga is an option for Isco – but the lure of the Premier League may move the deal in the direction of the English trio.
Our landlord thinks that the majority of the interest will almost certainly come from Arsenal and Tottenham, given the vast array of attacking talent already at Manchester City.
The Arsenal fans in the Tavern, in particular, are very keen to see this deal happen. They are dreaming of an Ozil-Isco-Sanchez attack – and it is easy to see why.
Meanwhile, the Tottenham faithful think that Isco would be a perfect fit in their side; but they admit that a lack of funds may force them out of the equation.
Isco’s tenure in Madrid has been far from consistent, and he has always looked on the verge of a departure. Could it happen as soon as January?
