Arsenal and United to do battle again over Adam Matthews

MatthewsA year and a half after going head to head for the signature of Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal and Man Utd are set to do battle yet again for the signature of another of Cardiff’s starlets.

Right back Adam Matthews is rated as one of Wales best prospects and at just 17 he has already represented Wales u21 side.

Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale has insisted that he will fight tooth and nail to keep the youngster at the club in light of interest from a host of clubs but he faces a tough task as the enquiries have already begun,

“We have had two or three enquiries and I know Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in the lad. But there is no agreement with any club, verbal or otherwise. We want Adam to stay with Cardiff.”

Despite his young age, Matthews has impressed in his 17 appearances this season.
