Arsenal supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are a mixed bag of emotions this evening as their FA Cup semi-final against Wigan Athletic fast approaches.
The Gunners are excited but apprehensive in equal measure as Arsene Wenger’s side attempt to secure their first piece of silverware in over eight years.
For now they have been distracted by the latest transfer speculation arriving in the tavern as the Daily Star reveal that Wenger has some interest in signing Rubin Kazan striker Sardar Azmoun.
The 19-year-old has impressed in his few appearances for the Russian outfit this term and that has reportedly brought about interest from both Arsenal and Juventus.
It is Azmoun himself who has admitted the possible interest, confirming that a number of major clubs are after his signature.
Azmoun said: “I have offers from three major clubs: Arsenal, AC Milan and Juventus.
“I also had an offer from Barcelona, but due to their transfer ban the club is out of the picture at the moment.
“The talks with both Milan and Arsenal are getting very serious. Both clubs have spoken to Kazan.
“But for me, it’s important to keep focus on Kazan. We have seven games left, I will decide after these games.
“I’m very proud to have Arsenal looking at me but, as I said, right now I’m only focusing on the Russian league.”
Here in the tavern we know little about the striker, who joined the Russian side from Iran outfit Sepahan in January 2013, but he sounds like a very decent prospect.
Does this striker represent the sort of signing you are expecting in the summer at the Emirates Stadium? Let us know your thoughts below.
