Local media outlet Estadio Deportivo declare that Sevilla are ‘close’ to agreeing a new contract with Gregorz Krychowiak, who many of our regulars believe would be the perfect January addition to Arsenal’s midfield.
Significant progress has been made with the Polish international after Sevilla dropped their insistence a release clause of €45m was added to the contract, which Krychowiak’s representatives were not happy with; believing it limited his future options.
Whilst the Premier League seems to be his destination in the future, and Arsenal favourites for his signature in the long-term, the new deal would hand Sevilla a huge boost in negotiations by securing him with the club until 2020.
Krychowiak’s new clause will not be has high as €45m but Arsenal will still have to part with a heavy amount of cash to secure the midfielder’s services, whilst interest in the player could rise after Poland’s Euro 2016 campaign next summer.
