Sky Sports have a claim that has Chelsea fans reaching for the top shelf tequila here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
They claim that Demba Ba has rejected talk of a move away from Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have suffered more than most this season with their failure to score goals.
Now it seems that they will be stuck with one of their misfiring pros for a little while longer after Ba claimed he will not be making the switch across London to Arsenal.
One of our punters points out, when Jose Mourinho decided to put David Luiz on in place of Fernando Torres instead of Samuel Eto’o yesterday at the Emirates Stadium, it pretty much summed the situation up at the club, with the lack of trust in the trio up top evident.
Despite clubs like Newcastle United and Arsenal showing an interest in Ba, Mourinho will not allow him to leave and the player himself has come out and backed this up.
Ba claimed: “People talk a lot about me joining Arsenal. But there has never been an approach from them,
“There is nothing going on in this regard. Things are OK for me at the moment.
“It’s working, as the situation is turning around for me here bit by bit. You just need a bit of time to adapt when you change clubs.
“I’ve been in a process of adaptation while moving between West Ham, Newcastle and Chelsea.
“But as soon as I’m given the chance to prove myself, I take it. So the fact that I’ve often been on the substitutes’ bench is nothing serious.”
The Senegalese forward has scored three times in the league since joining from Newcastle.
Clearly Mourinho doesn’t want to strengthen a rival but surely Ba wants out himself? Let us know your thoughts below.
