Punters in the Football Transfer Tavern have a wry smile on their faces after the latest claim from the Daily Star.
The publication seem to be under the impression that Arsene Wenger is playing it coy over the future of Manchester United’s Robin van Persie.
The Dutch forward has been on the attack recently – and not on the field. He has been blasting his club and team-mates, and now Wenger has chosen to ignore the latest comments and speculation from the media.
As one of our punters notes, we have been enthralled with the speculation linking RVP with shock move back to the North London club.
Whilst we are all too familiar with Wenger claiming not to have seen something, we are surprised to hear him claim not to have heard something!
The Frenchman was asked about the future of RVP and noted: “I didn’t hear it. I wouldn’t like to comment on comments I haven’t heard.”
Our landlord is rushed off his feet today, but he still finds the time to make the point that United will face a fight to hold onto the forward, and if the Dutchman did choose to leave, he would certainly find himself in high demand!
Arsenal fans. Could you take him back or is it a simple case of; cross the fans once and that’s it? Let us know your thoughts below.
