Arsenal boss finally opens up on future

The Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern aren’t sure what to make of this…

Arsene Wenger’s future has been up in the air for months – and the recent sacking of Sam Allardyce has opened a whole new can of worms for the Arsenal boss.

Long speculated with an Arsenal departure, Wenger is now being touted with the England national team job by the punters in the Football Transfer Tavern – and the Frenchman has finally opened up on the prospect of changing jobs.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of Arsenal’s weekend clash against, Wenger said: “My priority is to do well here…It has always been my club”

Refusing to commit his future to the club however, when questioned on whether he would take the England job if he was available, Wenger said: “Why not?”

Crucially, the Frenchman also discussed that he could still sign a new deal: “I rule nothing out because I want to work and I want to do well”.

The Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern think this is a bit of mixed message, but they appreciate that it would be a tough decision for the Arsenal boss.

Our landlord has pleaded that Wenger needs to make his mind up soon, so Arsenal can begin preparations ahead of a potential departure next season.

It’s going to be a very interesting few months to be a Gunners fan, that’s for sure…
