It seems that Arsene Wenger is finally pulling his finger out this transfer window; well if the Daily Mail is anything to go by.
The Arsenal boss reportedly made a personal call to Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas in order to convince the player to join him at the Emirates Stadium next season.
As one of our punters notes, Casillas has not exactly made a great impression in recent months, making a hash of the Champions League Final and also Spain’s World Cup campaign.
After seeing Diego Lopez installed by both Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti as number one at the Bernabeu, Casillas has considered leaving the club he has spent the whole of his career at and Wenger knows this.
According to the majority of our punters, they do not think Casillas would do well in the Premier League, with crosses and a more physical style of play being his downfall in La Liga, let alone a league as intense as the one in England.
Arsenal fans. Is this just a terrible idea from start to finish? Do you think Casillas can return to the top of his game? Let us know your thoughts below.
