Speaking at the club’s AGM, where he was under intense scrutiny after transfer failings and a woeful Champions League campaign, Wenger appeared to suggest that he will leave his position in 2017.
Wenger has been in charge of Arsenal for 19 years and, come 2017, will have spent over two decades in the Gunners hot-seat; and he detailed his plans to leave a comfortable job for his predecessor.
“I want to leave it (the club) where it can do even better when I leave. That is for me very important, that I leave the club in the shape that the guy who comes after me can do better.”
Our punters aren’t surprised that Wenger is plotting an exit in the coming years but raised their eyebrows at a 2017 exit, as it was previously suggested the French boss could leave at the end of the season- paving the way for Pep Guardiola to arrive from Bayern Munich.
Arsenal fans, should Arsene Wenger leave before 2017? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
