Arsenal boss REJECTS talk of Gunners January departure

Ozil.jpgArsenal fans are looking up with massive interest at what Metro have to say here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they hear that Mesut Ozil has been publicly backed by his manager Arsene Wenger once more.

The German World Cup winner is of course out until the New Year at the earliest after suffering with injury issues since coming back from the World Cup in Brazil.

We think that the words of encouragement from his manager will go a huge way to boosting the German international’s fragile confidence.

As our punters note over a beer and a burger provided by our rather generous landlord, Ozil has been under increasing pressure this season and after failing to impress in any games – let alone the big ones – the harsh words have flown in thick and fast from fans, pundits and the media.

Wenger has put rumours over Ozil’s future to bed however and has offered his unequivocal backing to the player, claiming: “He had a very good first season with us. I think we will see the best of Ozil in the seasons to come.”

Arsenal fans in the tavern are certainly hoping this is the case with Ozil being one of the best midfield playmakers around when on song!

Arsenal fans. He may have endured a difficult start to his career at Arsenal but will Ozil eventually look back on his time with the Gunners as a success? Let us know your thoughts below.
