Arsenal boss unwilling to match transfer targets’ wage demands

Loic RemyArsenal fans are still on an Alexis Sanchez high here in the Football Transfer Tavern but as one of our punters notes, the Daily Mirror may bring them back down to earth.

The publication seem to think that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger may not land Loic Remy after all, deciding that the Queens Park Rangers forward is asking for far too much money each week.

As one of our punters notes over a pint, that is typical Wenger, who does not feel that the Frenchman warrants wages of £80,000 per week, which he is currently getting at Loftus Road.

They also make the point that North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are keen on the French forward and could well come in and swoop the player out from under the nose of Wenger if he does not move a little quicker!

One thing that Wenger is willing to pay is the £10 million transfer fee for Remy – and is more than happy with that, but he will not cave on the wage demands. Given Remy is holding firm too, we think this move could well collapse.

Arsenal fans. Do you think Wenger is right to stand his ground or are you about to miss out on a player because of money yet again? Let us know your thoughts below.
