Arsenal can return to the Champions League fold with the signing of this 27-year-old midfielder

The Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate to see the club sign some genuinely stellar players during the summer transfer window…

It hasn’t been a happy season for the Gunners and even though they ousted Chelsea to win the FA Cup last weekend, the fifth placed Premier League finish is a real hammer blow to the Arsenal supporters who must now mentally prepare for the Europa League rather than the Champions League.

With their divisional rivals improving each and every summer it is vital that the Gunners don’t get left further behind during the transfer window this time around and boss Arsene Wenger must splash the cash to ensure success.

One area that Arsenal are desperate for an enforcement in is in the middle of the park and Roma midfield general Kevin Strootman would represent a really good piece of business for the club this summer.

The 27-year-old was an influential part of the Roma team which finished second in Serie A last season and his battling qualities are there for all to see. Arsenal are simply lacking a player as good as the Dutchman and his arrival could be a piece of the jigsaw that they are missing.

One Arsenal fan is sat chatting to the landlord here in the Transfer Tavern and he agrees that Strootman would be an exceptional player for the Gunners to try and secure, stating that in order to get back into the Champions League they must recruit players of his ilk.

Arsenal fans, would you welcome Strootman to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
