Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still reeling after their 2-0 derby-day defeat to Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend, a result that certainly hasn’t helped the morale in Arsene Wenger’s squad!
The Gunners slumped to a pretty comprehensive loss at White Hart Lane thanks to goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane but it was the way in which they fell which has frustrated punters here in the pub.
Two poor quickfire goals did the damage in the second half and the result now means Spurs will finish above Arsenal for the first time in over 20 years- some achievement indeed.
And there’s been more bad news for Gunners fans this morning after French outlet Telefoot reported that both Manchester City and Marseille are lining up summer moves for captain Laurent Koscielny.
The Frenchman’s contract runs until 2020 at the Emirates but with the club’s fortunes quickly going downhill in the league once again, could we be set to see an exodus in North London over the summer?
Arsenal fans- just how important is Koscielny to the club these days? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
