Arsenal & Chelsea send scouts to firm up transfer interest

JorginhoThere are some interesting reports in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening as one of the top Premier League targets finally breaks his silence over a potential transfer to England.

Hellas Verona winger Jorginho has confirmed that both Chelsea and Arsenal have shown interested in him with scouts present as he netted twice against Parma on Sunday according to the Daily Star.

After his impressive performance against Parma which saw his side climb to fourth in Serie A, the 21-year-old stated: “In the match against Parma there were scouts from teams like Arsenal and Chelsea.

“Maybe if I keep playing well I can show exactly what I’m worth.”

However despite reportedly holding initial negotiations with the Gunners last week, Jorginho also feels that he could benefit from more time with Verona.

He said: “Staying here for another season would only do me good. I feel at home here and there is great enthusiasm in this place.”

This is unlikely to put off the Premier League suitors from trying to secure his signature during the January window. Liverpool are also thought to be interested after their original move for the Brazilian-born starlet collapsed at a late stage.

Hellas Verona boss Andrea Mandorlini is thought to be demanding £10 million for the star winger although he has revealed that the club are already preparing for his departure.

He told Radio Anch’io Lo: “I know, only too well, that it will be hard to keep the likes of Jorginho. But behind them we are already allowing others to grow and mature.

“We are making use of those youngsters who are given little space but who will have an important future for this club.”

Which Premier League giant needs Jorginho in their ranks the most? Let us know your thoughts below.
