The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a couple of deals to be confirmed over the coming days…
The Gunners are going well in the Premier League, and whilst Arsene Wenger will be keeping an eye out for a few incoming deals – our landlord is expecting the majority of business to be with regards to outgoing players.
It would appear that the first of those outgoings could well be coming sooner than expected, with Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce confirming that the Eagles have agreed a deal with Arsenal for defender Carl Jenkinson.
Speaking in Crystal Palace’s pre-match press conference, Allardyce said: “We appear to have an agreement with Arsenal” with regards to Jenkinson – signifying that a deal is edging closer for the Gunners.

SA: I think that's negotiation between the chairman and the agent, but we appear to have an agreement with Arsenal [for Jenkinson].

Significantly, there is no suggestion that the deal is a loan or a permanent move, leaving the Gunners in the Tavern to simply speculate on that matter.
A lifelong Arsenal fan, the Arsenal fans in the pub had always hoped that Jenkinson would make it – but the fine performances of Hector Bellerin make it unlikely that the Englishman will ever be a regular at the Emirates.
Signed in 2011, Jenkinson has featured intermittently for the Gunners – but he clearly has his eyes on more regular game time.
