Arsenal close to completing deal for 30-year-old Barcelona midfielder

The Arsenal supporting punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are hopeful that the club can finally get it right in the transfer market this summer.

Some of the Gunners here in the Tavern were mightily disgruntled when Arsene Wenger was handed a new two-year contract last week, although they are prepared to give him a chance to appease them in the transfer market this summer.

According to The Metro, Arsenal are set to pounce for Barcelona midfielder Arda Turn and the only aspect that remains to be completed is the fee which the North Londoners will pay the Spanish giants.

The Catalans are reportedly holding out for £26 million, whilst Wenger is apparently holding out for a deal which sees an initial smaller outlay from the Gunners.

The Turkish international would certainly represent the kind of player that the Gunners supporters want to see arrive at the club and would fill a problem void for Arsenal on the pitch, in the hole in front of the back four.

The Arsenal supporters who regularly attend the pool tournament here in the Tavern are bitterly disappointed that the club will not be in the Champions League next season, although they do accept that Turan is the kind of player who can help them qualify for the competition during next season.

Arsenal supporters, would you welcome Turan to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
