Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern gathering on the sofas and awaiting Deadline Day news from their club have been handed an update from the most reputable source there is.
Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Serge Gnabry is likely to complete a loan move to the Championship before tonight’s 11pm deadline, where two clubs are interested in the young German.
“He is likely to go out to the Championship. It is between two clubs.”
Gnabry spent the first-half of the season on-loan at West Brom but struggled for game-time, which led to Arsenal ending that spell prematurely.
With the likes of Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez, Joel Campbell and Alex Iwobi ahead of him in the pecking order, the best course of action for Gnabry’s development is to go on-loan to a side that can offer him more regular opportunities.
The 20-year-old, highly-rated by the Gunners, has previously made ten Premier League appearances for Arsenal and scored one goal.
Our landlord is keen to see Gnabry shine in the second-tier and believes he can be a crucial player for Arsenal in the future.
Arsenal fans, is there space for Gnabry in the first-team? Let us know in the comments below!
