Arsenal consider shock move for Premier League forward

DeeneyArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern had to take a second look at the tabloids today, not quite believing what they were reading as they tucked into the chef’s English breakfast.

The Daily Star sensationally claims that Arsenal are considering making a move for Watford striker Troy Deeney.

Arsenal currently lead the Premier League table by two-points but many believe Arsene Wenger needs to bolster his strike force, providing additional competition for Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud.

Whilst punters in the bar believe that a world-class addition is needed but Wenger clearly feels differently, with it stated he is prepared to pay around £20m to land Deeney.

Deeney is currently enjoying a fine run of form that has seen him score six goals in 11 appearances, helping the Hornets climb the Premier League standings as he creates a deadly partnership with Odion Ighalo.

Watford understandably do not want to sell either of their star strikers but could be tempted into a lucrative move, if the price is right.

Fans in the bar unanimously believe that Deeney is set for bigger things than Watford but don’t think Arsenal is the right club.
