Arsenal consider swoop on London counterparts in effort to improve this summer

Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking ahead to their summer transfer plans as they look to try and compete for the Premier League, as the competition continues to elude them.

Arsene Wenger’s side has failed to lift the trophy since the 2003-04 campaign and a number of the locals have become frustrated with the Frenchman’s management of their side in recent years. The manager signed a new deal to remain at the Emirates Stadium last summer and is already looking at who to bring in during the summer.

According to reports, the Gunners are rumoured to be looking across the capital at Fulham full-back Ryan Fredericks. The Sun are claiming Arsenal scouts have been impressed with the performances the 25-year-old has been producing in the Championship.

The defender’s contract at Craven Cottage is set to expire at the end of the season and the west Londoner’s, who are pushing for promotion to the Premier League, could face a battle to keep him as West Ham United are also thought to be interested.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Arsenal fans in the Tavern will be excited by the prospect of Fredericks joining them as he is thought to be one of the better right-backs in England and could offer competition to Hector Bellerin, who himself has been rumoured to be attracting interest.
