The Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been a disgruntled bunch over recent weeks, after witnessing yet another February-March blip, which has once again seemingly curtailed their Premier League title ambitions.
Should boss Arsene Wenger fail to win the title this season, it will be a sorry 12 seasons since the Gunners last failed to lift the title, which is simply not good enough for their ardent supporters here in the Tavern.
With many backing the French manager to leave the club at the end of the season, several bookmakers have started to take bets on who will replace the legendary boss, should the club decide to make a change.
Our landlord has spotted an intriguing article in today’s Metro, that claims several bookmakers have seen a large volume of bets for Germany boss Joachim Loew to become the new Gunners manager at the end of the campaign.
Loew has been linked with moves to both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the summer but the Gunners could now also throw their hat into the ring for his services.
One Arsenal fan is sat with his mates catching up on the weekend’s football and he believes Loew would add a more modern feel to the way the Gunners play and back him to be an improvement on the archaic way in which Wenger is still trying to play.
Arsenal fans… Would you welcome Loew at the club? Who else should the club’s hierarchy be considering for the role?
