Arsenal considering surprise summer swoop for Serie A star

Mario BalotelliArsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are growing accustomed to seeing their players leave North London in favour of a move to Manchester City.

In the past few seasons we’ve seen Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy make the move and defender Bacary Sagna is also set to make the move this summer after his contract run out.

But according to The Mirror, Arsenal could finally get a Manchester City player, albeit a former one, to the Emirates Stadium.

Apparently Arsene Wenger is on high alert after learning that Italian side AC Milan are interested in offloading controversial striker Mario Balotelli.

The 23-year-old built quite a reputation, both on and off the field, when at Manchester City and it now seems he’s ready to return to the Premier League.

The fiery Italian scored 30 goals in 54 games in Milan but has now seemingly become surplus to requirements.

Mainly because the Italian club are strapped for cash and need to cut their San Siro wage bill.

Wenger tried to sign Balotelli back in 2009 when leaving Inter Milan but the Frenchman missed out.

It’s now believed that he could swoop again for Balotelli, who is rated at £30 million.

Arsenal fans. Arsene Wenger has been criticised many times for not taking risks in the transfer window, but is a £30 million bid for the fiery Italian too much of a risk? Let us know your thoughts below.
