Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern hoping for some incoming deals before tonight’s transfer deadline have been given a slender boost as they tuck into their pulled pork this afternoon, with a deal in the works.
Metro state that Arsenal are continuing their attempts to seal Ben Chilwell from Leicester City before the window shuts this evening, though the Foxes are reluctant to let the talented youngster leave.
Arsenal have seen a number of bids rejected for the 19-year-old full-back rejected this month, whilst Leicester are ready to offer the teenager new terms to extend a deal that is currently due to expire at the end of the season.
The Gunners interest stems from glowing reports they received on the player from chief scout Steve Rowley, who watched the player during his loan spell at Huddersfield Town in the first-half of the season.
However, completing a deal this late in the transfer window will be problematic and with Arsene Wenger stating earlier today he’s 99% sure of no fresh faces arriving at the Emirates, our fans aren’t getting too excited.
