Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are frustrated with their woeful run of form but they’ve been stunned into silence by claims that changes could be imminent.
Metro cites reports that indicate Arsene Wenger could be sacked this week if the Gunners fail to overcome Hull City in tomorrow’s FA Cup fifth-round replay.
The Championship outfit held the Gunners to a 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium in the first-leg, which is one of ten games that Arsenal have failed to win in their last 12 matches in all competitions.
With just two victories in that run, over Burnley in the FA Cup and Leicester City in the Premier League, Arsenal have slipped out of the title race and now need a miracle to end their 12-year wait for an elusive crown.
To make matters worse, the Gunners currently trail north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Mauricio Pochettino’s side have a strong chance of landing Spurs’ first league title since 1962.
It’s all added to many wanting Wenger to be replaced in the summer but by potentially axing the long-serving boss before the end of the season, Arsenal run the risk of dropping out of the Premier League’s top four altogether.
