Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted the team managed to give Arsene Wenger the send-off he deserved in his final home game at the Emirates Stadium.
The Frenchman has called time on his 22-year stay with the Gunners and will step down at the end of the season, however, he saw his side run out as 5-0 winners against Burnley on Sunday.
Following the game, the manager had an on-pitch ceremony to say thanks to the supporters and conducted his players for a lap around the pitch.
According to a report in Spain, AS are also stating that it could be the last time Santi Cazorla could be seen at the Emirates Stadium with Villarreal interested in bringing the midfielder back to the club he started his professional career with.
The 33-year-old has just returned from a serious Achilles injury, which had required 11 operations over a period of 18 months, however, his contract at the Gunners expires at the end of June and it remains to be seen if whether they will offer him a new one.
It has become an emotional time at the Emirates for the locals in the Tavern as they begun to wave goodbye to Wenger, although a number of them will not be prepared to see Cazorla go. The midfielder has been unfortunate and the Arsenal fans would like to see him stay and return to the pitch, where he offered them so much before the devastating injury.
