The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern want Arsene Wenger to oversee a period of change at the Emirates this summer…
The Gunners have struggled to compete over the last few years, culminating in their exit from the top four this season, leaving the fans in the pub demanding big changes.
Whilst Arsene Wenger was touted with an exit, the Frenchman recently signed a new two-year deal to stay at the club – and so he will be charged with ensuring improvement over the next couple of years.
With no time to waste, it appears as though Wenger is quickly creating a list of targets, and L’Equipe are reporting that one player that the manager has his eye on is Monaco star Thomas Lemar. Currently 21-years-old, Lemar has impressed for Monaco this year, and L’Equipe reports that Arsenal could look to rival Tottenham for the player this summer, with the Mauricio Pochettino-led outfit also reportedly keen.
It has come as no surprise to our landlord that Lemar is courting interest, with the Frenchman impressing for Monaco this year. Able to play across the midfield, Lemar bagged 9 goals and earned 10 assists during a championship winning Ligue 1 campaign for Monaco, quickly establishing himself as a real force in the midfield.
With Arsenal lacking depth in midfield, our landlord thinks that he could be a great acquisition.
