The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern want to see the future of Alexis Sanchez get resolved sooner, rather than later…
The Chilean’s future has been up in the air for months now, and with his contract expiring next summer, time is running out.
The general perception amongst supporters in the Transfer Tavern is that he may leave this summer, with fans concerned at the prospect of him leaving on a free transfer at the end of the season, but according to BBC’s David Ornstein, his future is not so cut and dry.
Taking to Twitter, Ornstein has revealed that whilst Sanchez may leave this summer if the right deal comes in, there is at least a chance that he will sign a new deal at the Emirates – leading to a huge cheer amongst the Gunners in the Transfer Tavern.
No bids for Alexis Sanchez yet. May go if price right but may sign new deal. All hypothetical. Arsenal very reticent to sell to PL club #AFC

Of course, the retention of Sanchez alongside a new long-term deal is the best case scenario for the Gunners, with the Chilean attacker arguably their best player last season. He bagged a remarkable 24 Premier League goals, beating out some of the Premier League’s best forwards in that regard, and he was so often a game-changer for Arsenal.
Of course, his performances weren’t quite good enough in the grand scheme of things, with the Gunners missing out on a top-four finish at the end of the campaign, but if Wenger is to turn his fortunes around next season – he simply needs Sanchez there.
It’s going to be a very long summer for the Arsenal fans in the pub.
