The Football Transfer Tavern is inundated with Arsenal transfer stories right now and The Sun have provided another, claiming that the Gunners are after FC Copenhagen striker Andreas Cornelius.
Arsene Wenger is of course on the look out for a forward and after being linked with a host of forwards including David Villa who is set to stay at Barcelona and also his club team-mate Alexis Sanchez but he has now turned his attention to a young Danish international.
At only 20 years of age, Cornelius still has plenty to prove in the game and has not yet made his name on the big stage. Currently plying his trade for FC Copenhagen, the forward has managed to net an impressive 16 goals and now has a £5 million price tag on his head.
This is considerably less than it would cost to land someone like Edinson Cavani or even Alexis Sanchez and given Wenger is looking to rebuild his whole side it means a bargain up top could well be on the cards.
When the player himself was asked about the chance of a move, he noted: “It is a huge pat on the back.”
