Shocked faces can be seen all around the Football Transfer Tavern at the news from the Daily Mail, who claim that Arsenal could well be set to target Javier Hernandez this winter.
The forward, whose quality has never been in question, has been frozen out to a degree by new manager David Moyes.
The manager clearly seems to prefer Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney as his first choice attacking duo, and now the Mexican forward is looking toward the exit door.
As one of our punters quips, you cannot really blame Hernandez for that, especially given the fact that when given a rare opportunity, the forward has scored goals.
There are of course no shortage of takers for the player, and it seems that top of the table Arsenal are leading the pack.
Arsene Wenger is on the look out for a forward to bolster his forward line this winter, and evidently feels that Hernandez is the perfect contrast to current star man Olivier Giroud.
Quite if Moyes should be looking to sell Hernandez remains to be seen, but if the player wants to leave there is not too much he can do.
As our landlord points out however, he certainly can block the player from joining one of their rival clubs and aiding their boost for the title. That is simply not an option! Imagine the backlash for one thing!
Surely this is media hype? Why would United want to aid a side gunning for the title? Let us know your thoughts below.
