It has been an exciting couple of weeks for Cardiff City, having been confirmed as champions of the Championship today and the latest story coming from Metro means it is only set to continue for those here at the Football Transfer Tavern.
The club have of course been promoted to the Premier League and whilst most of their fans are relishing in the celebrations and indeed the Welsh derby to come with Swansea in football’s top flight, there are also those who are getting more than a little bit excited with the news that Arsenal target Salomon Kalou could well be set for a move to the club.
Kalou is of course a former Chelsea forward and spent several successful years there before being released after the Champions League victory last May. Despite a move to Ligue 1 with Lille, the player has struggled to settle in France, so much so that the 27-year-old has instructed his agents to do everything in their power to find him a move back to the Premier League – something that may well be on the cards.
The player himself claimed that: “I spent six seasons there and I am crazy about the Premier League.
“Players’ careers change so quickly – you never know what will happen tomorrow.”
It was only the other day in the tavern that The Sun reported that Kalou had came onto Arsenal’s transfer radar yet again after the Ivorian had some kind words for the Gunners and Arsene Wenger in the past.
