It’s set to be an interesting few weeks for Unai Emery. He’s beginning his first campaign in England with Arsenal, and whilst it didn’t get off to the best start, there is still time. The season, after all, is a long one – and defeat to Man City on the opening day isn’t likely to matter come May.
However, a second successive defeat could make things tough for Arsenal, and so it’s important that Emery and his players put in a good shift against Chelsea on Saturday.
Ahead of that game, though, Unai Emery has made a decision that has frustrated fans online. As confirmed by Sky Sports, Emery has stated that Petr Cech will start against Chelsea this weekend.
Cech’s performance against Man City on the opening day was far from poor, but clearly fans are eager to see Bernd Leno. Leno moved to the Emirates from Germany over the summer, but he’s yet to start in the Premier League.
Naturally, responses to the news have been coming in thick and fast, and Arsenal fans online aren’t happy. Some are already comparing Emery to Arsene Wenger for this decision, and they’re sure to make their voices heard even more if the Gunners don’t win.
Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
He’s got the tactics correct, but the line-up wrong.

God no I'd rather have a traffic cone in goal than cech, I understand leno is new but he probably feels like he's got something to prove so why doesn't emery let him. It's a shame to see such talent benched but I think as soon as he gets that opportunity he will replace cech

He played well against city, good saves but from the philosophy of playing from the back @Bernd_Leno is the better player for the squad.

Why spend 20+million on a keeper and not play him when that could have been spent to strengthen elsewhere??

Did Emery watch the game vs City? Does he not realise it was Cech's fault we lost? Emery is a total fraud.#EmeryOut
