After losing their first two Premier League games of the season to Manchester City and Chelsea, things have since picked up drastically for Arsenal under their new manager Unai Emery.
Following their 3-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge, the Gunners have gone on to win their next nine games in all competitions, resulting in the club climbing up to fourth in the Premier League table in the process.
Arsenal currently sit on 18 points — just two behind Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool — and are looking very promising with Emery at the helm.
Unsurprisingly, Transfer Tavern has been able to find plenty of Arsenal supporters on Twitter who are delighted with the club’s current form and are optimistic about what it could mean going forward for the club.
It is early days and, the opposition the north London side have been playing of late have been significantly weaker teams, but it is hard to look past Arsenal being title contenders in this moment of time.
Comparing squads, Manchester City’s is clearly the superior of the two. But looking at Liverpool and Chelsea — who most are tipping to be the Citizen’s biggest challengers this campaign — they are not on another level to the Gunners.
If they can compete, which they have shown thus far, then Arsenal, too, should be setting themselves the same goal.
And even if a serious charge on the title has come too soon, Emery’s men should at least be closing the gap between themselves and first place with the distance having only increased towards the end of Arsene Wenger’s tenure in the Emirates dugout.
Ultimately, it has been a great start to the season for Arsenal who must now go on to show that this spell of form is not just a purple patch and that they are actually the real deal under Unai Emery.
