Arsenal: Fans go crazy for Hector Bellerin after assist in under-23’s game

Arsenal fans were going crazy over Hector Bellerin after the right-back assisted a goal in the under-23’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool

The £36m-rated man is making his way back from a serious knee injury suffered in the 2-0 win over Chelsea back in January (via BBC).

The 90 minutes on Saturday was the third game the Spain international had played in just over a week, also turning out in Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest and the under-23’s 2-2 draw away to Wolves.

Bellerin’s return from injury coincides with an interview given by Ainsley Maitland-Niles on his stand-in at right-back. The England youth international said that he was being played ‘out of position’ and told manager Unai Emery he wanted a more attacking role (via The Metro).

The 24-year-old’s assist versus Liverpool under-23s seems to have excited the north London faithful as they took to Twitter to react.

Here is a selection of tweets from the Emirates Stadium faithful:
